Fairfield Sidewalk Sale & Street Fair

After SANDY Onward Art Show

June 1 - June 30

This show exhibits the strength, endurance and perseverance of the people of the Town of Fairfield after Hurricane Sandy. This documentary project is a collaborative effort between the current art teachers of Fairfield and the faculty and student photographers of 2012. The Fairfield University Bookstore is honored to present this traveling exhibit. Hope you will stop in and see the show! Located in the Stairwell Art Space in the Fairfield University Bookstore

Where’s Waldo Hiding? In Fairfield of course! The iconic book character will be hiding in 25 downtown businesses from July 1-29, 2017. Pick up your Waldo passport at the Fairfield University Bookstore—your Waldo Headquarters, and start the hunt. A fun summertime activity for kids and families. Support the shop local movement in our community! Waldo Kick-Off Event at Saugatuck Sweets, 28 Reef Road All participants will receive a Free soft serve ice cream compliment of own Al DiGuido.    

Fairfield Fireworks

Come Celebrate Independence Day with an explosive Grucci Firework show. Fireworks explode just after dark, usually around 9:15 PM, from a barge off of Long Island Sound so the show can be seen easily from either Penfield or Jennings Beaches. (rain dates July 3 or July 4th) Parking available for beach pass holders or $50 cash.

Pequot – 4th of July Bike Parade

July 4 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Annual 4th of July Bike Parade and Lawn Games. Start at the Five Corners in Southport Village with decorated bikes and arrive at Pequot Library’s Great Lawn for face-painting, sack races, a hula hoop contest, and crafts. Tavern Night

Saturday, July 8: “Tavern Night,” 6-8pm. Guests will learn about and taste local brews from Aspetuck Brew Lab of Fairfield and discover more about local Connecticut hops and ingredients used in Colonial times. In addition, the night will feature traditional music and dancing outside the tavern, past-times that were highlights of social activity in the 1700s.  

Declaration Celebration

Admission to the Museum and the Museum Commons will be free, and the day will feature crafts, games, a British encampment with members of the 54th CT Regiment of Foot (similar to the one that invaded Fairfield in 1779), food trucks and family fun. Burning of Fairfield Walking Tours

Take a walking tour that will bring the Fairfield Town Green to life and experience the Town’s burning as if you were there! Stroll back in time while exploring the history surrounding the attack on Fairfield by the British on July 7-8, 1779. Adults $10 Students $5    

St. Anthony Parish Picnic

The annual Parish Picnic will be held on Sunday, July 9, from 12:30p to 6:30p. In addition to the food, fun, and dancing, this picnic is an important fundraiser for our parish. Additionally, 25% of the profit from the picnic will be given to Merton House.
