Fairfield Arts Commission: Spotlight Series - Carol Leonetti Dannhauser
Meet Carol Leonetti Dannhauser, a writer, teacher, editor, and also the founder/owner of the Fairfield County Story Lab and the Fairfield County Writers' Studio!
The Fairfield County Story Lab, located at 85 Mill Plain Road in the Sportsplex, is a shared workspace and business incubator exclusively for writers and creatives. The lab offers a special, quiet space for those looking to hone their craft. There are open spaces to work, as well as individual closed offices. When you walk into the Lab, you feel a sense of peace – the sunlight just pours in through the large windows. Carol even offers special workshops, training and events to help writers master their craft and grow their business.
The Fairfield County Writers’ Studio, also located in the same space, is a creative community committed to the art, craft and business of writing. The Studio helps emerging and established writers grow their stories and their careers with support, workshops and master classes led by faculty whose work has received national acclaim.
Carol grew up a curious kid in the inner city of New Haven and she “believed that being a journalist would show her the world. And it has!” She has created these unbelievably welcoming spaces as an opportunity to offer writing workshops, readings, community, connection, and clean, quiet space for creatives at work.
Carol shared that “It's thrilling to be located in the heart of Fairfield, a stone's throw to the bookstore, theaters, music venues, record store, library and more. We love the vibe, the warmth, and the camaraderie our town's arts community exudes!”
