Fairfield Arts Commission: Spotlight Series - Jack Geer

Meet Jack Geer, a traditional and digital media artist, known for his fun postcards, posters, and prints!

John Charles “Jack” Geer has been channeling his highly developed visual perceptual skills into stunning works of art virtually his entire life. Drawing since toddlerhood, his verbal communication skills took longer to develop, and art became his go-to method of self-expression. He produces award-winning original artwork in traditional & digital mediums for private clients & nonprofits. His notecards, postcards & prints are sold locally at Team Woofgang, BE Chocolat, and the Fairfield Museum Gift Shop, as well as other shops in neighboring towns.

Jack began his formal studies at Silvermine Arts Center in New Canaan at age eight. He graduated Fairfield Ludlowe High School as a member of the art honor society and went on to study traditional and digital art at the college level. In 2023, he graduated magna cum laude from CT State Norwalk with an Associate in Science degree in Graphic Design. Since then, his art has been exhibited and sold at the college as well as the Bruce S. Kershner Gallery in the Fairfield Public Library, where his painting “Sherman Green Gazebo: Sherman All Year” took first place in the 2024 Community Art Show.

Through his affiliation with Team Woofgang & Co., a local nonprofit that provides job training for young adults with disabilities, Jack designs a line of popular notecards and prints, which are sold at Team Woofgang’s store in Fairfield Center as well as other local retailers, including BE Chocolat in Greenfield Hill and the Westport Bookshop. He also designs posters and other materials for Team Woofgang’s annual benefit galas and golf tournaments.

Jack shared that being a part of the Fairfield community, “has helped him develop as an artist in many ways.”

Jack continues to work in both traditional and digital mediums for private clients and nonprofits. Follow him on Instagram @beanstarstudio or send him a note via email at beanstarstudio@gmail.com.
