JOIN THE MERCHANTS OF GREENFIELD HILL COMMONS FOR THE INAUGURAL SCARECROW CONTEST TO RAISE FUNDS FOR NORMA PFRIEM
Join the merchants of Greenfield Hill Commons this fall and take part in their inaugural Scarecrow Contest! The contest is a part of the merchants’ annual fundraiser for the Norma Pfriem Breast Center in Fairfield.
This contest is open to all Fairfield Residents and Greenfield Hill Commons Business owners that would like to participate. To participate please stop by Lexington Home & Garden and complete a Registration Form. There is a $25 fee to enter. You will be provided with a scarecrow kit (one 4ft bamboo pole, one 6ft bamboo pole and one burlap sack for the head). A $20 donation from the entrance fee will go to the Norma Pfriem Breast Center.
Check out the contest guidelines and additional details below:
· Participants must develop a design that is appropriate for families and public display, utilizing materials that will withstand the elements, wind, rain, snow, etc.
· Scarecrows cannot exceed 5 feet in height and 4 feet wide. Installation will be done by Lexington Home & Garden on the Greenfield Hill Commons Green. Most will be free standing with the post dug into the ground and some may be attached to lampposts or trees using rope or zip ties.
· Participants must supply their own materials, other than the kit provided.
· Scarecrows may be installed beginning on October 10th through October 21st. All Scarecrows must be up by October 21st.
· Displays cannot include acts of violence, nudity or racially insensitive content. Greenfield Hill Commons reserves the right to remove and NOT accept any entry that is deemed inappropriate for general public display.
· Greenfield Hill Commons is not responsible for the maintenance or care of individual entries. Participants are encouraged to provide upkeep should any materials become detached.
· Voting will commence on October 22nd through October 30th. The winners will be announced via social media on October 31st.
· Scarecrows must be removed by November 4th. Any scarecrow remaining after November 4th will be discarded by Greenfield Hill Commons.
· The community is invited to cast their ballots on their preferred scarecrow in each of the following categories;
1. Most Original 2. Fairfield Pride 3. People’s Choice
· Ballots may be picked up at the following locations: Coreen’s Bridge Floral Shop, Jennifer Butler Design & Lexington Home & Garden.
· Drop off you completed ballot in the box at Lexington Home & Garden. After hours use the mail slot in the door.
