JOIN US! 11TH ANNUAL HOLIDAY SHOP & STROLL - WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 6!

First Selectman Bill Gerber is pleased to invite the public to participate in Fairfield’s 11th Annual Holiday “Shop & Stroll” on Wednesday, December 6.  The event is co-sponsored by the Town of Fairfield and the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.

Participating shops along the Post Road in Fairfield will offer extended hours and an assortment of complimentary seasonal refreshments to shoppers.  Traveling carolers will fill the air with holiday cheer.

The Town and the Chamber are partnering with Connect Fairfield to make it a night not to be missed! The evening will kick off with Happy Hour beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Sophie’s, located at 1275 Post Road. There will be special discounts on food & drinks and free “Buy Local Fairfield” tote bags with goodies from local merchants, while supplies last.

This year, we are excited to partner with Fairfield University’s Alumni Association to help them collect new, unused teddy bears as a part of their annual Teddy Bears with Love Drive, now in its 25th year. Please consider bringing a teddy bear or stuffed animal to the Pre-Event Happy Hour; all collected items will be donated to children at local area hospitals.

“The Annual Holiday Stroll is a festive and fun night where our community comes together to support local businesses,” stated First Selectman Bill Gerber.  He added, “I look forward to seeing everyone there!”

This year’s Holiday Stroll will feature caroling by Fairfield University’s Sweet Harmony, Fairfield Ludlowe’s Close Harmony and Aria, the Fairfield Prep Freshman Choir, Select Choir and the Jazzuits.  Weary shoppers looking for a quick pick-me-up can swing by Sherman Green to enjoy the fireside lounge courtesy of Hemlock Hardware and for free hot cocoa and s’mores courtesy of BE Chocolat.

This year’s event includes retailers along the Post Road, from the Brick Walk Promenade to Coco & Company in Southport!

Featured retailers and participants as of press time include: Apricot Lane, Bailey Jaymes Boutique, Beach Kraft, Boho Prep, Capri, Ciao Bella, Coco & Company, Element 50, The Fairfield University Store, Friends of the Fairfield Public Library, Henry C. Reid & Son, Here For You Clothing, In the Mood Intimates, Island Outfitters, Jane and Mercer, Kelli and Crew, La Moda, Marathon Sports LLC, NicholsMD of Fairfield, Olive My Stuff, Sacred Heart University Community Theatre, and Vintage Garden.

Fairfield Chamber of Commerce President Beverly Balaz said, “The Chamber of Commerce is happy to be partnering with the Town on this festive event as it will give our businesses another opportunity to open their doors to the community, meet new customers from surrounding towns, and together, help celebrate the holiday season with a wonderful shopping experience!”

The Town and Chamber gratefully acknowledge the following businesses for helping to sponsor this year’s Holiday Shop & Stroll event: Connect Fairfield, Fairfield Moms and Fairfield Post.  The public is invited to visit the special event website at www.experiencefairfieldct.org/shopnstroll for more information on participating retailers, restaurants, activities and special offers.
