THE HOME OF THE STAGS - FAIRFIELD UNIVERSITY’S LEO D. MAHONEY ARENA TO OPEN THIS FALL!

Earlier this month, the Town of Fairfield’s Office of Community & Economic Development had the opportunity to take a behind the scenes tour of the almost finished Leo D. Mahoney Arena at Fairfield University ahead of its scheduled opening on November 18, 2022. Built where Alumni Hall once stood, the Leo D. Mahoney Arena will be the home of the Fairfield University Volleyball and Men’s and Women’s Basketball programs.

The new state-of-the-art arena, will have 3,500 seats – courtside, chair backs, bleachers and club level seating – along with concessions, a beer garden and a team shop to get the latest Stags apparel. The tour also included a closer look at the ticket office, locker rooms, VIP seating areas and game day staff operation areas.

Fairfield Basketball will host a total of 27 games in the University’s new Leo D. Mahoney Arena this
season. Stags’ Women’s Basketball will play the first game in the new Arena on Friday, Nov. 18 against
Stonehill. That opening weekend also includes a visit from Michigan on Sunday, Nov. 20. The reigning
MAAC Champions will play a total of 13 games in the new facility.

Fairfield Men’s Basketball will begin its 14-game home slate as a part of the MAAC opening weekend on
Dec. 3
against Saint Peter’s University.

Fans can purchase tickets for men’s basketball, women’s basketball or purchase combo tickets to watch both programs during the 2022-23 season. Tickets are available at fairfieldstags.com/tix!
